• Conducting the university's all research affairs
• Planning the research affairs and supervising the university's portal and the intranet network
• Carrying out the necessary studies and making decision regarding the university's research programs and activities
• Contacting domestic and foreign institutions in order for cooperating in research and scientific projects
• Assessing the research activities and evaluating the university's annual research performance
• Managing the associated research centers
• Cooperating with the president's office, the public relations and the international Relations Bureau office in providing scientific, cultural, and social services and holding seminars and conferences
• Managing all the research contracts between the university and other institutions
• Helpingnon-academic centersin holding short-term courses
• Supervising all the research activities, libraries, and databases
• Planning for faculty members to use sabbaticals at home and abroad within the approved regulations
• Providing the university with research plan and setting the research priorities within short/long-term periods to be negotiated in the research council
• Assessing the university's activities in line with progress programs and higher education development to be investigated in the university council
