GIS laboratory and Remote Sensing
Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) are among the most effective tools in the study of Geography, Agriculture, Ecology, Geology, Geomorphology, Soil Science, Civil Engineering, Archeology, Oceanography, Meteorology, Urban Planning, and Regional Planning. , Water Resources, Natural Resources, Mapping (Surveying), etc. The use of these technologies reduces costs, increases the speed and accuracy of studies, and saves time. According to studies, the use of RS and GIS can reduce at least 50% of the time and cost of various zoning studies, and by teaching this scientific field, we can take steps to build the country. This workshop has been created to provide educational services and research and educational fields in topics related to GIS, cartography, and remote sensing. The main goal of this laboratory is to teach RS and GIS technologies at different levels of Bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Currently, the workshop is equipped with a supercomputer system (Erasmus project) as well as common hardware and software in the fields of GIS, Surveying and Geology, Forest and Rangelands Engineering and Watershed Management. Students from different levels of Rangelands and Watershed Management, Environment, Fisheries and Forest Engineering Departments use it.
Botanical Laboratory and Herbarium
In this laboratory, practical classes of the courses offered in the Department of Nature, Master’s students’ dissertation experiments and undergraduate students’ projects are held.
The laboratory is equipped with the following laboratory equipment:
Electric Laboratory Furnace: 1200 degree electric furnace - 1500 degree electric furnace
An electric furnace or laboratory furnace is a device that has a completely insulated container (chamber) with refractory bricks, refractory cement, and refractory cotton. This chamber creates a high temperature up to about 1100 C or 1500 C by strong elements around or on the roof of the device, which is used to melt some materials and also to get the ashes of some other materials. It is equipped with a digital thermostat and thermometer and can also install a digital timer. The outer body is made of an oiled sheet with electrostatic paint cover. The accuracy of the display in the temperature range of 200 to 1200 degrees Celsius is about 10 to 15 degrees.
Application of 1200 degree Celsius electric furnaces: for getting ashes of materials in laboratories
Application of 1500 degree Celsius electric furnaces: for melting materials in the laboratory
Optical Microscope:
The optical microscope is used for different magnifications to examine organisms and the structure of materials that cannot be examined with the unaided eye. The structure of the optical microscope includes the eyepiece and the lens of the object, the handle or body of the rotating plate, the microscope plate, the diaphragm, the light source, the plate clamps, the macrometer screw, the micrometer screw and the base. Today, optical microscopes are used to look at biological specimens, cell tissue incisions, thin sections of rocks, soil and sand particles, polished surfaces of metals and ceramics, as well as pigments.
Incubator REYHAN TEB
It is a laboratory tool used in biological laboratories to cultivate and grow living specimens such as cells or microbes, and in biological laboratories to cultivate and grow plant seeds. By controlling humidity, temperature, oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, the device provides the right conditions for the growth of living organisms and plant seeds. The incubator is one of the important tools in microbiological experiments, cell biology, etc.
Erlenmeyer Shaker
It is one of the most widely used devices in all laboratories for diagnosis, measurement, and quantitative, qualitative, and research control. This is due to the great importance of mixing and blending in a variety of experiments. The shaker is used to mix liquids in laboratory containers for operations such as assessments, culture media, staining, pharmacological analysis, water pollution analysis, and hemolysis.
Vortex
A tube (pipe) shaker, or vortex, is a device used to mix samples inside a tube with small volumes. Various types of pipes, such as sampling pipes, centrifugal pipes, standard pipes, and generally all pipes with a maximum diameter of up to 30 mm, can be placed inside this device. The shaker moves in an orbital manner and rotates at 2000 rpm.
WB14 Water Bath
It is a device that is widely used in various laboratories, including laboratories in research, clinical, educational, food and wastewater centers. This device is also used to heat the reagents, digest the plants-soil and to absorb the samples. As a general rule, water is used in Water bath; however, a small number of them also use oil.
Microfusion (Microcentrifuge)
It is a kind of common laboratory equipment used to spin small samples of liquid at high speeds. Microfugers (microcentrifuges) are small compact table top (benchtop) centrifuges available in non-refrigerated or refrigerated models.
Electric Heater (Heater Stirrer)
This device is mostly used for even (equal) heating with automatic mixing of solutions inside laboratory containers. There are three types of adjusting screws on it, which use a thermal screw to adjust the produced temperature, a timer screw to adjust the heating time of the samples, and a mixer speed screw to adjust the speed of the magnetic stirrer. In order to use a magnetic stirrer, a small piece of special magnet is inserted into the solution container and, after putting the container on the plate of the device, the magnetic stirrer is activated. Then, the solution is stirred by rotating a small piece inside the container.
Oven
It is a device with a container with different volumes that is used to heat materials or dry wet materials up to 250 or 320 degrees Celsius. The heating inside the chamber is still even and can be controlled very carefully. One of the most important factors in the durability of a laboratory oven is the insulation of its chamber. The inner compartment is made of two types of aluminum and stainless steel, which is designed in a way that can be easily cleaned. Ovens have floors with different numbers according to their volumes. These floors are made of their own material and can be easily moved.
PH Meter
pH meter is an electronic device for measuring the pH of liquids and solutions. This device consists of two main parts: probe and meter. The pH probe converts the solution into an electrical signal, and the meter analyzes it and displays the pH level. They are divided into two types:
Portable pH Meter: These pH meters are cheap, light, and small, but are less accurate than the second type, the Table Top pH Meters. The pH meters of the second type are larger and more expensive and are usually installed in a fixed place. This type of pH meter has much higher accuracy and some of them are capable of measuring several parameters in addition to pH.
Soil Humidifier
It is used to measure the amount of moisture or water in the soil.
Hood
Laboratory hood is one of the most basic and perhaps the most important equipment needed in all industrial centers and laboratories. And it plays a very important role in providing and maintaining the health of the staff in the laboratory environment. The laboratory hood is a kind of vacuum or ventilator and transfers all the produced gases and pollutants out of the laboratory environment.
Vernier Caliper
It is a tool by which the diameter of the workpiece, depth, inner diameter and height of different parts can be measured with different accuracy according to different measurement systems.
Digital Scale
It is a device used to weigh objects with a very high accuracy. Laboratory digital scales usually have a weighing chamber plate that uses the chamber plate to prevent the effect of air on the weight of the material.
Digital Scale with an accuracy of three zeros :GE-200-Max=200gr-d=1mg
Pantograph
It is a device used to draw similar shapes.
Laser Meter
It is a device that uses a laser beam to determine the distance between objects.
Soil Tissue Hydrometer
It is a device that can determine the concentration of particles in liquids.
EC Meter
It is a device used to measure the electrical conductivity of liquids. The shaft and portable types are designed to be suitable for outdoor use.
Double Ring
This device is used to measure the permeability of soil in agricultural lands in order to evaluate agricultural soil for its classification for agricultural purposes and to estimate the amount of water used for agricultural affairs, as well as to assess soil leaching and soil drainage capability.
Hand Auger
It is used for soil sampling and includes three sampling blades in 2, 3, and 4 inches, a T-shaped handle, and two interface bars that are one and a half meters long.
