The Department of Animal Sciences has two separate laboratories for nutrition and livestock and poultry farming, and conducting research projects inside and outside the university and communicating with other universities, research centers and private companies in the industrial sector are among the group's most important priorities in Scientific and practical training of students in undergraduate and graduate courses.
Laboratory No. 1 Department of Animal Sciences
Approximate feed analysis, measurement of insoluble ash in acid, calcium and phosphorus and other experiments related to feed analysis are performed.
Laboratory No. 2 Department of Animal Sciences
There is enough space and appropriate equipment for the proper implementation of research projects and master's and dissertations. This lab is conducting research on the Gas Production test, and microbial cultures for Salmonella, E. coli and Clostridium.
Livestock Science Research and Training Farm
This farm was built in 1397 in 4 sections on the main site of the university including:
1- Research and training poultry hall
The meat poultry research hall is equipped with a heating and cooling system, suitable cages, manholes and feeders with a capacity of 300 pieces for the implementation of students' master's theses. Also, there is a separate room for killing and sampling, as well as a separate room for mixing rations.
2- Sheep breeding hall
There are about 50 sheep and goats and 2 fistula sheep in research section. These animals are kept in a hall about 100 square meters. Sheep and goats often have a kind and native breed. In this section, there are four sheep metabolic boxes for digestibility tests. Fistula sheep are used for in Situ testing and ruminal fluid testing for Gas Production.
3- Livestock sector
Currently there are 7 cows and heifers on the farm. Cows are of Holstein breed. This section is useful in teaching dairy cow breeding and internship courses for students.
4- Educational-welfare-administrative department
In a part of the livestock farm, there are several rest rooms, with a kitchen, for students to spend an internship (undergraduate) or do a master's thesis. This section is equipped with heating and cooling system. There are also a number of classes in this section that include some of the group's practical lessons. Dr. Mojtaba Yari is the current supervisor of this farm.
