Today's furniture industry is one of the most important branches of the high-powered small-scale industries, creating value added and speeding economic returns that can be sustained by long-term planning. Malayer, as the main hub of the country's furniture industry, produces over 62 percent of Iran's furniture, which could play a major role in creating employment and income for the country. Out of the 15,000 registered furniture production units nationwide, 5700 are registered in Hamadan province and more than 4,000 are owned by Malayer, which is registered and known as The National City of Wood Carving. There are also more than 20,000 craftsmen in the field of furniture and enormous capacity in the field of employment, demonstrating the potential of this sector to tackle the problem of employment in the province and the city, an issue that, with the nationalization of the industry, may boost employment opportunities, so that Malayer furniture industry can be considered as an example indicator of resistance-economy. Despite the high foreign exchange earnings of the furniture industry in the World, Iran has not been able to obtain a fair share of the world trade, and according to some statistics, out of the $ 460 billion furniture industry, Iran’s share is less than 1%, undoubtedly with support for the Malayer furniture and wood carving industry this quota can be improved.
